Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you teach children?

Yes, I am happy to teach younger students aged 6+. Those students below 6 years of age tend to struggle with having the finger strength to play the piano, for more information about lessons for children simply get in touch.

Do you teach beginners?

Yes! You don’t have to have any prior knowledge or experience on the piano or with music in general. I teach beginner courses for adults and children alike.

Where do the lessons take place?

I teach the majority of my lessons at my student's homes if they are local to St Albans. I have found that this tends to help students learn faster due to the familiar environment, as well as meaning that they don't have to worry about travelling to lessons. For students who don't have a piano/keyboard at their homes alternative arrangements can be made for your lessons - please get in touch for more information.

What songs will we learn on the piano?

It is totally up to the student. I cover all a wide range of musical styles on the piano – classical, jazz, pop - and we can focus our lessons around the style of music that you are most passionate about.

What do I need to bring?

Nothing, just yourself! Everything you need for your first lesson will be provided for you. If you have a particular piece you would like to learn, you can bring it with you

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes - get in touch for more information!
